Maya has been a member with CFNP for quite a while and even when she hasn't been CrossFitting here she has always been an honorary part of the CFNP family by association as a sister to Coach Veronica. She has watched as the gym has grown from the infancy stages to where it is today and she has been along for the crazy ride, often helping decorate for holidays and parties and coming back to help with cleanup (major thanks for that!) After joining as a CrossFit member, Maya has had tremendous growth and success as an athlete and it has been a pleasure watching her get stronger and faster with every class she attends. Not only that but as a member Maya is a blast to coach, she's always got a smile on her face and is never to busy to pose for a picture while simultaneously cheering on others. As luck would have it, August also happens Maya's birthday month! So when you congratulate her on being the member of the month don't forget to wish her a happy birthday and offer to do some birthday burpees with her.

What has been your biggest accomplishment while at CFNP?
The fact that I’m stronger and faster than when I first started, and every time I PR I feel accomplished
What’s the best thing(s) about CFNP?
The coaches and the community feeling you get while at the box!
Which class time do you most commonly attend?
Is competing one of your goals?
I never thought about it, but maybe!
Do you have any advice for someone on the fence about trying CrossFit or joining CFNP?
I would say the coaches, at least at our box, adjust the workouts to your level and they make sure you’re doing the movements correctly so you don’t injure yourself. You’ll never know if you like it if you don’t try it.
What keeps you motivated?
The improvement I see in my performance every time I go in. Also, just wanting to have a healthy lifestyle for the long term.
How has CrossFit changed your life?
It’s gotten me into a more consistent workout mindset, and it’s given me structure in my workouts so that I know and feel the movements are working and giving me results.
What has been your favorite workout and why?
I don’t have a favorite workout but I do have favorite movements, deadlifts, back squats, running, and power cleans.
What is your favorite cheat item?
I like going to food festivals like the smorgasburg or 626 market.
