November is a big month at CFNP since it's just about everybody's birthday. Among the birthday boys and girls is Tracy Tubera, who celebrates his on the 11th, the same as Coach Gabriel.
"I learned Gabe and I had the same birthday when I came into the gym and saw all these balloons and decorations. I thought they were for me!"
Well, this year, we'll bestow him with an honor not even Gabriel has: Member of the Month! Congrats to the man with the most buttery smooth burpees in CrossFit history. (That's kind of a weird thing to say, but if you saw them, you'll know what I mean.) Anyways, let's hear from Tracy in his own words:
How long have you been CrossFitting?
What made you try CrossFit?
My wife. She had tried a few classes at a box in Glendale and thought I would like it. I was tired of my same old boring workout routine at the gym so I decided to give Crossfit a shot.
What has been your biggest accomplishment while at CFNP?
Staying consistent with my workouts!
What’s the best thing(s) about CFNP?
The community. The members and coaches at CFNP really make it an inviting environment. No matter your skill level, everyone is helpful and encouraging.
Which class time do you most commonly attend?
Is competing one of your goals?
No. In my older age, my main focus for Crossfit is to stay healthy and make personal improvements but not get seriously injured in the process. Old man joints. HAHA!
Do you have any advice for someone on the fence about trying CrossFit or joining CFNP?
If you are bored with the same old gym routine, give Crossfit a try. Classes/WODs are fun and never boring. They can be challenging but that's what is great about Crossfit. Pushing yourself past your normal limits to accomplish more.
What keeps you motivated?
My Triplet Boys. I want to stay healthy and active as long as I can for them.
How has CrossFit changed your life?
I feel like I am in better shape now then when I was in my 20’s.
What has been your favorite workout and why?
Anything with ROPE CLIMBS, because I’m a MONKEY!
What is your favorite cheat item?
What is your favorite activity to do outside the gym?
Sleep and Draw. Then Sleep some more.

I love sneakers, toys and comics. That is all!
