Let's take time to congratulate this month's Member of the Month: Kip Su! He first walked in our doors a year ago. Like most new CrossFit athletes, he had a lot of shoulder inflexibility to work through. However, unlike most new athletes, Kip's mobility improved because of his hardworking attitude and his willingness to put form before weight and times. As a result, he's seen big gains in his numbers and, in the words of Coach Gabriel, he's leaned out quite a bit. Let's hear from the man in his own words:
How long have you been CrossFitting?
I would say early November 2017.
What made you try CrossFit?
Health reasons, Friend's recommendation.
What has been your biggest accomplishment while at CFNP?
Climbing the ropes with ease.
What's the best thing(s) about CFNP?
Great coaches & cool peeps!
Which class time do you most commonly attend?
I will say 50/50 (6:30 pm & 7:30 pm)
Are you interested in competing at some point?
Maybe, but haven't felt the need to do it yet.
Do you have any advice for someone on the fence about trying CrossFit or joining CFNP?
Just take a leap a faith! (What’s the worst thing that can happen, lose a bit of weight and have a bit more energy?)
What keeps you motivated?
Having more energy since I started, and able to do more fun stuff.
How has CrossFit changed your life?
It's given me a new prospective in accomplishing goals. No matter how much the workout punishes you to your limits, there is a finish line at the end.
What has been your favorite workout and why?
Dead lifts and pull ups, It has help improve overall muscle strength and prevented a lot of injuries with a stronger core.
What is your favorite cheat item?
What is your favorite activity to do outside the gym?
Repelling / Caving
Anything I missed that you would like to share?
Carpe Diem! and never too late to try new things!
